Welcome to ur-lvd.com! This has been a long, long time in the making. I have been wanting to change the name of our blog for a very long time, but nothing really stuck out to me, so I stayed with "The Birmingham Lee's."
Fast Forward to this past summer. If you remember this post, I made skirts, as part of a larger web-based initiative, for girls living in foster care. My prayer while making these skirts for these girls was to know that they were loved. If they did not know love from earthy parents or parental figures, somehow a skirt made just for them might point them toward a love that is not earthly, but heavenly, from the Author of Love. I know, tall order, but I still pray for those girls.
I started thinking, how are they going to know unless I somehow tell them. That is when I thought of these tags.
I have not stopped thinking about these tags since I made them. The more I thought about them, the more it seemed like a perfect fit for the blog. I started this blog so that out of town friends and family could keep up with the kids, but primarily I did it as a way to scrapbook our life in a way that the kids will be able to look back and see our days together: the highs and the lows. We do have lots of fun together as a family and I try my hardest to do things with and for the kids that are special and let them know without a shadow of a doubt that they are loved.... And not just loved by me and Murray, but reflect an even greater love that is from the Heavenly Father.
The tag has been tweaked just a little bit and I have had lots of help getting this new look (thank you Jessica and Katie!) and lots and lots of questions and ideas were bounced off a select few (thank you Murray, Mom and Wellon. They were very, very, very kind in answering too many questions and listen to me ramble and ramble!)
So, here we are at our new home. Same blog, just new location. Seeking to live a life that is always pointing toward the Love of the Father.
WELCOME!!!
