Let me tell you a little story...  A couple of years ago, trying to think of the perfect Christmas gifts that were the perfect balance between "made with love," "not cheesy," and "not budget breaking," Stephen (my brother-in-law, Wellon's husband) decided that they should try painting.  I am not 100% sure of how the story goes, but I think that Stephen's paintings (the one with the idea) did not turn out so great and Wellon discovered an incredible talent.  

As we all know, Wellon has not stopped painting and her "thoughtful Christmas gifts" have turned into much more than that!  

Jump forward a few years to this past week.  Wellon has a deep, deep love for horses.  Again, I am not 100% of the story because Wellon has had laryngitis this week, but from what I understand, she woke up and decided she wanted to try painting horses.  These were her first two attempts!

Wellon sent us these pictures two days ago and I am still just blown away by them.  One, because I cannot imagine just discovering a talent like this and then just deciding to paint horses and do this on my first try.  And two, because I think they are beautiful.  I just could not keep these to myself.  I had to share them!  

If you have not really decided what you want for Christmas, I cannot think of anything better!  Of course I am sure it would just have to be a promise of a painting because I am pretty sure we are a little too close to Christmas to have it done by then, but what a great promise!  These paintings are not on her website yet, but all her contact info is and I am sure she would love to hear from you!  Click Here for her website, wellonart.com.
